San Felice Villa

The wonderful SAN FELICE villa overlooking the sea is located within the Circeo National Park and was built by the famous Italian architect Busiri Vici in the 1960s.

The 350-square-meter villa has an entrance hall from which one enters the large helicoidal hall overlooking a rectangular furnished terrace with a splendid view of the sea.

Downstairs from the terrace we find a garden with beautiful views and equipped barbecue and long table for outdoor dining for more than 10 people.

From the living room with TV corner you enter on the left to a dining room with long rectangular table for 10/12 people and from here you enter the bright and functional kitchen equipped with two refrigerators, washing machine, dishwasher, oven etc.

From the entrance on the left, there is access to a hallway with three bedrooms each with two single beds and two bathrooms, one with bathtub and one with shower.

From the entrance of the villa there is access via a flight of stone stairs to the upstairs where there is a small study, a master bedroom with en suite bathroom (with tub/shower) and two bedrooms both with two single beds and a bathroom with shower. From the bedroom there is access to a beautiful equipped terrace of over 100 square meters.

The villa is completed by a small apartment on the floor below the living room with a view and access to a garden with a view; the annex consists of a dining room/kitchen, two bedrooms, one with a double bed and one with two single beds (convertible into a double bed), and two bathrooms, one with a tub/shower and one with a shower.

From the villa via a road inside the park you can reach the sea and a private pool carved into the rock (the pool is shared with the guests of the villa next door)

The villa is absolutely very hospitable, and cozy with a warm and familiar decor. It has no air conditioning but being on a promontory it is always pleasantly breezy.

If you want to experience a reality completely immersed in nature within the park, on the promontory and a stone’s throw from the sea this is definitely the ideal place.

Neighbourhood:

Enclosed within its walls, San Felice Circeo stands on a natural platform about 100 metres above sea level. The town of San Felice Circeo has a very ancient history that begins with the Neanderthals. Over the centuries, Circeo was then a Roman colony, a Templar possession during the Middle Ages, a feud of the Caetani family, and finally a papal stronghold.

The Circeo is also the protagonist of the myth of Ulysses and the Sorceress Circe, recounted by Homer in the Odyssey.

The main square of San Felice Circeo is overlooked by the Templar Tower, built between 1240 and 1259. To the right of the square, an arch leads into the courtyard of the baronial palace, now the town hall, built in the 14th century by the Caetani family.

Some of the monuments and places of interest

1) The Papal Towers

During the second half of the 16th century, Pope Pius IV ordered the Caetani family to build four defence towers along the cliffs of the promontory against the constant raids of Saracen pirates: Torre Paola, Moresca, Cervia and Fico.

2) The Lighthouse

About three kilometres from the town of San Felice Circeo is the Capo Circeo Lighthouse, built in 1866.

3) Acropolis

Probably built at the beginning of the 3rd century BC on the rocky spur dominating the town, it represented the last defensive bulwark of the city of Circeii.

4) The Caves

The human presence in the San Felice Circeo area from the Middle Palaeolithic onwards is attested with caves and shelters under rocks existing along the entire perimeter of Monte Circeo
