The apartment with the really most beautiful view in all of Venice!

From the bedroom, the dining room and the lounge you have a splendid view over the Canal della Giudecca and at the same time over San Marco and the Doge’s Palace, over the famous church of Santa Maria della Salute and the end of the Canal Grande, over San Giorgio Maggiore and the magnificent Riva degli Schiavoni. There is no other place in Venice that offers such an overwhelming panorama.

In this apartment, writers have worked at the desk, through whose glass top you can see the water of the lagoon. The bedroom with ceiling fresco, and fantastic view has a large double bed and a dressing room. The dining room is dominated by a large tapestry. The salon has a large Murano chandelier and together with the magnificent views it creates a unique Venetian atmosphere. Thus the precious interior of the completely restored apartment offers an extraordinary homely and festive atmosphere for enjoyable days of serene peace and relaxation.

An ultra-modern air conditioning system with special settings for every need, satellite TV with over 1000 international channels, decoder for Netflix, YouTube etc., fiber optic internet access, washing machine, dishwasher, microwave, coffee machine, refrigerator, gas stove with oven etc. provide for a luxurious furnishing of the 130 sqm apartment.

The location of the apartment is particularly pleasant. It is located at the Fondamenta San Giacomo on the Giudecca only 30 m from the Redentore boat stop. From there you can reach San Marco in 9 minutes! There is a direct boat to the Biennale and the Lido. From Piazzale Roma (arrival by taxi from the airport), from the Central Station and from Tronchetto (arrival by car), boat line 2 goes directly in front of the house.

The Giudecca is not crowded with tourists, many Venetian families live here. In the immediate vicinity there are small traditional shops, supermarkets, pharmacies etc. There are restaurants in every price range, also traditional restaurants like the “Altanella” 200 m away, where the French president Mitterand loved to dine. In other words: Dorotea Venice View is an apartment with all the advantages of Venice but without the usual disadvantages, a real insider tip.

Since it is a typical “Casa Porta Sola”, you have direct access to the apartment from the street. Over the years the rooms have never been flooded, because from the front door a few steps lead to a first bedroom with two single beds; further steps lead to the first floor, where there is a dining room, a large lounge, a kitchen with sliding door, a bedroom with a large double bed (king-size) and a private marble bathroom with a large shower and a small but charming courtyard. On the second floor there is a living room with sofas and television, a study area with glass desk, a small bedroom (with a 160 cm wide bed) separated by a sliding door and a bathroom with shower.

Apartment DOROTEA is a private home in Venice, set at the water’s edge of the Canale of Giudecca, next to one of Palladio’s masterpieces, the famous church “Il Redentore”.

The Giudecca is one of Venice’s best kept secrets, a heavenly retreat inhabited almost entirely by locals although boasting some of the city’s best restaurants and bars.

You can lunch at Altanella’s two hundred yards away, at Harry’s Dolce or at Chip’s (Cipriani restaurant) on the waterfront and feel the true maritime history of Venice.

There is a vaporetto landing just outside the door and Piazza San Marco is three stops away.

The Patriarchal Cathedral Basilica of Saint Mark (officially known in Italian as the Basilica Cattedrale Patriarcale di San Marco and commonly known as Saint Mark’s Basilica) is the cathedral church of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Venice, northern Italy. It is the most famous of the city’s churches and one of the best known examples of Italo-Byzantine architecture. It lies at the eastern end of the Piazza San Marco, adjacent and connected to the Doge’s Palace. Originally it was the chapel of the Doge, and has only been the city’s cathedral since 1807, when it became the seat of the Patriarch of Venice, archbishop of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Venice, formerly at San Pietro di Castello.
