Villa Le Cannicelle is perched on the highest point of Villammare almost directly above the beach. Sleeping up to 14 people (10 adults + 4 children).
Overlooking the horizon from the pool terrace it seems you could literally fly over the sea. As you enter the front gate you are utterly rewarded with magnificent views of the Italian coast and from this natural terrace there is nearly half of Italy opening to your eyes.
Set above the lively town of Villammare, Villa Le Cannicelle is the perfect holiday place to sunbathe and take in the Mediterranean sea. Here you can experience the Italian coast at its finest – amidst charming gardens, endless terraces, sea views and an infinity swimming pool.
The villa is a modern three-storey villa built in a traditional style, set 56 mt. above sea level with stunning views stretching for miles along the Italian coast, in an harmony of stone arches that frame glimpses of century-old olive trees and sea views. It is elegantly furnished in a contemporary style and each level is self-contained making it ideal for larger groups. Outside there is ample space for everyone to come together and enjoy the stunning sea views from one of the many terraces, lounge in the shade of a huge Mediterranean oak tree, soak up the sun around the pool, or enjoy a meal on the rustic “taverna” dining terrace.
The entire accommodation has light, bright and airy atmospheres and is furnished in original and elegant taste. It is the ideal solution for family and friends holidays at the beach in Italy. It gives opportunities to share holiday time with your loved ones as well as keeping your own privacy when needed.
It is directly managed by the owners with great care and positioned on a dominant panoramic hillside facing the sea, just 700 meters from “Villammare” long sandy beach. The villa commands a spectacular Mediterranean vista – views stretching down to the farthest mountains of the Calabria region on one side and as far as the Punta Infreschi and the wild coastal stretch bearing the same name between Scario and Marina di Camerota on the other side. Two thirds of the estate is covered with lush woodland and cork oak, a plant typical of the environmental niche stretching along the coastline of the Bay of Policastro between S. Marina and Sapri.

The villa is extremely spacious and well equipped with many terraces where to relax, sipping a glass of wine, and soak in the views before dining together on the wonderful covered “taverna” with its traditional Italian style wood-fired pizza oven and barbecue. The “marina” of Villammare is less than 1 mile therefore it is easy to walk there but car is recommended because the last part of the road to the villa is steep.

Informazioni sulla zona:

Cilento, the southernmost area of Campania, has been included by UNESCO in the World Heritage List. In almost one hundred kilometers of coast there are cliffs overlooking the sea, golden beaches, wild and unspoilt landscapes, and large bays with fully equipped beach clubs. Cilento can boast some of the most beautiful seaside spots of Campania such as Palinuro, Scario, Ascea, Ogliastro, Paestum, Villammare and Camerota, all part of the Cilento National Park. An ancient cultural land that has long been identified as the cradle of the Mediterranean.

In recent years, scientists from all over the world – you may have heard about the American biologist and nutritionist Ancel Keys – have been drawn to Cilento and Acciaroli to try to understand the secret of healthy aging, which means the area is on its way to qualifying as a scientifically confirmed blue zone, alongside the Japanese island of Okinawa, the Nicoya Peninsula in Costa Rica, Ogliastra in eastern Sardinia and the Greek island of Ikaria. As in the other blue zones, there is hardly just one reason why so many people are over 100 years old. For a long life a combination of healthy food, physical activity, stable social networks and a sense of meaning in life are all needed.

Inspired by the nutritional values and cuisine of countries around the Mediterranean Sea, the “Mediterranean Diet”, recently named as a World Intangible Cultural Heritage by UNESCO, was born in Cilento.

In this fantastic land have been left the marks of the great history, indeed Cilento is universally renowed as the “Land of the Myth” because in the past it hosted important settlements of the Romans, Lucans and Greek. Today inside this limitless territory there are two imperious statements

of antiquity: the archeological areas of Paestum and Velia, splendours from the classical period.

The awe of history here is slightly stunning. It was here that the founder of Rome, Aeneas, is said to have made shore first in western Italy after the battle of Troy, and it is also said to be here along the coast that the sirens called on Odysseus with their songs. Whether it is the food, the herbs or the genes is yet to be completely determined, but one thing is for sure, there is certainly lust for life here.

The village of Villammare is an ancient fishing village at the foot of the extensive Cilento National Park which takes in one of the most attractive strip of the Tyrrhenian coast swathed by the vivid colours of the Mediterranean flora. Long sandy beaches, a colourful seafront fringed with palms and eucalyptus trees, small restaurants, cosy venues and cottages make of Villammare the perfect seaside resort for travellers from all over the world in search of friendly and charming spots off the beaten track. Breathtaking views from the hills covered with centuries-old cork oaks, trekking the mountains and cruising along the Cilento coast, mouth-watering regional cuisine and the special friendliness of the locals captivate visitors all year round.

Villammare is lively at summer and there are bars, chalets, and shops. It is not a place spoiled by massive tourism and you will find a friendly athmosphere all around and an autentic glimpse of Italy.

Restaurants in the surroundings as well as “trattorie” and “pizzerie” offer very good fish, seafood and delicious local cuisine.

Moreover the Villa is in the “National Park of Cilento” (UNESCO world heritage site) therefore you could have lots of tours in evocative natural and historical place, whether to the mountains or to the sea.

Private skippered boat can be arranged on request for tours to Palinuro, Porto Infreschi, Acquafredda,

Scario or Maratea beaches where you can watch the sunset or visit some of the many natural sea caves with their mesmerizing, colorful reflections. These are holiday memories to treasure for a lifetime.

Daily tours to Napoli, Pompei, Herculaneum, Matera are highly recommended. During summer months guests can reach the Amalfi Coast, Positano, Sorrento and the island of Capri by hydrofoil from Sapri

harbour – the perfect way to enjoy a day or two on the Amalfi coast without staying in the tourist hustle and bustle!
